Believe it or not, there's a fish hatchery near Mackay that sits smack dab in the sage brush desert. How can that be? Well, believe it or not, a gi-normous spring gushes from a sage brush covered hillside providing 17-23 cfs of water that is a constant 52 degrees year round! The hatchery produces over 100,000 "catchable" trout each year, as well as more than 2-million fingerlings. Tour of the hatchery are available by appointment.
